RatePort is a service provided by Blue Spectrum LLC (“Blue Spectrum,” “RatePort,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you.
It applies when you use:
 the RatePort website;
 the RatePort mobile application;
 RatePort freight pricing and quotation services;
 email, SMS, WhatsApp, voice, or customer-support services; and
 other services that link to this Privacy Policy.
By using RatePort, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in three main ways:
 information you provide;
 information collected automatically; and
 information received from service providers or other third parties.
Information You Provide
You may provide information such as:
 name;
 email address;
 telephone number;
 company name;
 job title;
 account login information;
 communication preferences;
 feedback and support requests; and
 other information you choose to provide.
Passwords are stored in encrypted or securely hashed form and are not intended to be readable by RatePort staff.
Freight and Voyage Information
When you request a freight indication or use RatePort’s pricing tools, you may provide:
 cargo description;
 cargo quantity;
 stowage factor;
 load and discharge ports;
 laycan or shipment dates;
 vessel requirements;
 loading and discharge rates;
 draft or berth restrictions;
 route preferences;
 commercial assumptions;
 additional service selections; and
 notes, messages, or supporting information.
This information may be linked to your account and retained as part of your quotation history.
Subscription and Purchase Information
When you purchase a subscription or quote credits, we may receive information such as:
 subscription plan;
 entitlement or credit balance;
 purchase status;
 renewal status;
 transaction reference;
 purchase date; and
 cancellation or refund status.
Payments made through the Apple App Store are processed by Apple. RatePort does not normally receive your full payment-card details.
RevenueCat may help RatePort manage subscription status and purchase entitlements.
Communications
We may collect communications sent through:
 email;
 SMS;
 WhatsApp;
 telephone or voice services;
 in-app support;
 feedback forms; and
 customer-service requests.
These records may include your contact details, message content, delivery status, opt- in or opt-out status, and related support notes.
Information Collected Automatically
When you use RatePort, we may automatically collect:
 IP address;
 device type;
 operating system;
 browser type;
 app version;
 language and time zone;
 login activity;
 pages or features used;
 dates and times of access;
 crash reports;
 performance information;
 security events; and
 cookie or similar technology identifiers.
We use this information to operate, protect, troubleshoot, and improve RatePort.
Location Information
RatePort does not currently collect precise device-location information. Our websites and service providers, including Squarespace, may derive an approximate geographic location from an IP address for analytics, security, fraud prevention, and
technical purposes. This may include country, region, or city. Ports selected by a user are treated as voyage inputs and do not represent the user’s physical location. If RatePort introduces a feature requiring precise device location in the future, we will
request permission and update this Privacy Policy before collecting it.
We may receive information from or interact with service providers including:
Information From Third Parties
 Apple and RevenueCat for purchases and subscriptions;
 Quo, Twilio, Mailtrap, Meta/WhatsApp and email providers for communications;
 AWS for hosting and infrastructure;
 Expo for app deployment and delivery;
 Sentry for monitoring, diagnostics and crash reporting;
 authentication providers; and
 other technical or maritime-data providers used to operate RatePort.
The information exchanged depends on the service provided. Some maritime-data providers supply information to RatePort without receiving personal information about
RatePort users.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
 create and manage accounts;
 authenticate users;
 generate freight indications;
 calculate voyage and pricing scenarios;
 save and retrieve quotation history;
 provide subscription features and quote credits;
 deliver documents, messages, and notifications;
 respond to questions and support requests;
 improve platform performance and usability;
 detect fraud, abuse, and security threats;
 maintain records and audit trails;
 comply with legal and regulatory obligations;
 enforce our Terms of Service; and
 protect RatePort, Blue Spectrum, our users, and third parties.
We may also use aggregated or de-identified information to understand how RatePort is used and to improve our services.
We may analyze account, usage, freight, voyage, pricing, and operational information to:
 operate and validate RatePort’s deterministic pricing engine;
 test pricing assumptions and calculation rules;
 identify errors, anomalies, and unusual outputs;
 measure the accuracy and reliability of freight indications;
 understand how users interact with RatePort;
 develop and evaluate new features;
 improve pricing methodologies, recommendations, and customer support; and
 create aggregated or de-identified commercial and operational insights.
Where reasonably practical, we use aggregated or de-identified information for product analytics, research, model evaluation, and service improvement.

3. Freight Pricing and Commercial Data
RatePort uses the cargo, voyage, vessel, port, and commercial information you provide to generate freight indications and related analysis. This information may be combined with:
 vessel assumptions;
 port information;
 distance and routing data;
 bunker prices;
 hire rates;
 tariff information;
 weather or congestion data;
 third-party maritime information; and
 RatePort’s internal pricing rules.
Freight indications are maintained as part of your account history and may also be reviewed internally for:
 quality control;
 customer support;
 pricing validation;
 audit purposes;
 error detection; and
 improvement of RatePort’s pricing processes.
RatePort will not publicly identify your company, cargo, or quotation without permission unless required by law.

4. AI and Automated Processing
RatePort may use artificial intelligence, machine learning, rules-based systems, or other automated tools to assist with:
 freight calculations;
 commercial alternatives;
 route comparisons;
 anomaly detection;
 document preparation;
 customer support;
 data classification; and
 service improvement.
AI-generated outputs are intended to support, not replace, commercial judgment. RatePort does not intend to make binding commercial commitments solely through automated processing without appropriate human review or confirmation. We will not use customer information to train a public or general-purpose AI model unless:
 we have a lawful basis;
 the use is disclosed;
 appropriate safeguards are in place; and
 any required consent has been obtained.
RatePort does not currently use identifiable customer information to train a public or general- purpose AI model. If quote or voyage information is used in the future to test or improve RatePort’s internal pricing or AI-assisted tools, personal and customer-identifying information will be removed or redacted where reasonably practical. This Privacy Policy will be updated before any materially different use of customer information is introduced.

5. When We Share Information
We do not sell or rent personal information. We may share information with trusted service providers when reasonably necessary to operate RatePort. These may include:
 Apple, for App Store purchases and subscriptions;
 RevenueCat, for subscription and entitlement management;
 Quo or another communications provider, for SMS and voice services;
 Meta and WhatsApp, for WhatsApp communications;
 Google Workspace or another email provider, for email and support;
 Website hosting and content-management providers, including Squarespace, for the operation of RatePort and Blue Spectrum websites;
 authentication providers, for account access;
 hosting and cloud providers;
 analytics and crash-reporting providers;
 cybersecurity and monitoring providers;
 professional advisers; and
 development and technical-support providers acting on our behalf.
Service providers may only use information as permitted by their agreements with us and applicable law. We may also share information:
 when you ask us to;
 to complete a service you requested;
 to comply with law, regulation, court order, or lawful process;
 to investigate fraud, security incidents, or misuse;
 to protect legal rights or safety;
 in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of assets; or
 with an affiliated company that follows protections consistent with this Privacy Policy.

6. Messaging, Email, SMS, WhatsApp, and Voice. RatePort may contact you about:
 account activity;
 security;
 quotations;
 service updates;
 customer support;
 subscription status;
 requested information; and
 other communications related to your use of RatePort. Where required, we will obtain consent before sending promotional or marketing communications.

If you choose to receive SMS messages from RatePort, those SMS Terms form part of this Privacy Policy for messaging-related services.
SMS
Message frequency may vary. You may opt out of SMS messages by replying STOP. You may request assistance by replying HELP. Message and data rates may apply. SMS consent, mobile numbers, and opt-in records will not be shared with third parties
or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. SMS delivery and status reports may be stored by Quo and used to confirm delivery, troubleshoot messaging issues, manage consent, and maintain compliance records.

WhatsApp
RatePort may use WhatsApp to send messages you request or agree to receive. You may stop WhatsApp communications by:
 replying with an opt-out request;
 blocking the RatePort account; or
 contacting us directly.
WhatsApp conversations may be retained by RatePort and by Meta/WhatsApp in accordance with their respective retention practices and platform terms. Additional information about our messaging practices may be found in our SMS Terms
of Service where applicable. WhatsApp communications are also subject to WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy
practices.
Email
You may unsubscribe from promotional email by using the unsubscribe link provided in the message.
We may still send essential account, security, billing, or service communications. Voice Calls may be recorded and retained for customer support, quality assurance, training, dispute resolution, security, and compliance purposes. Where required by law, RatePort will provide notice before recording begins. Voice recordings and related call records may be processed and retained by Quo on
RatePort’s behalf.

7. Cookies and Analytics
RatePort’s website and app may use cookies, SDKs, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies. These may be used to:
 keep users signed in;
 remember preferences;
 protect accounts;
 understand platform usage;
 measure performance;
 identify errors; and
 improve the service.
Where required, RatePort will ask for consent before using non-essential cookies or tracking technologies. A separate Cookie Policy may provide more detail. RatePort currently uses essential cookies for authentication within the administration platform. Sentry is used for application monitoring, diagnostics and crash reporting. The public RatePort website uses Squarespace hosting and may use Squarespace analytics and performance cookies to measure site traffic, visitor activity, referral sources, and approximate visitor location. Where required, non-essential analytics cookies will not be used until the visitor provides consent.

8. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to:
 provide our services;
 maintain business and accounting records;
 support users;
 resolve disputes;
 prevent fraud;
 protect legal rights;
 comply with law; and
 enforce agreements.

Backups Deleted or overwritten according to the backup cycle and AWS policies.

These periods are provisional and must be confirmed before publication. We may retain information longer where required by law, litigation, investigation, tax, accounting, sanctions, maritime claims, or other legitimate business needs.
We may retain aggregated or de-identified information for longer because it no longer reasonably identifies an individual.
9. Account Deletion and Data Requests
You may request to:
 access personal information;
 correct inaccurate information;
 update account details;
 delete your account;
 request deletion of eligible personal information;
 receive a copy of certain information;
 withdraw consent;
 object to certain processing;
 restrict certain processing; or
 unsubscribe from marketing communications.
Some rights depend on your location and applicable law. You may delete your account through the RatePort app. Other privacy requests may be submitted by email :
 the RatePort app, where available; or
 email at support@rate-port.com
We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
Deleting your account may not immediately delete information that we must retain for:
 legal compliance;
 financial records;
 fraud prevention;
 dispute resolution;
 security;
 contractual enforcement; or
 backup integrity.

10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. These may include:
 encryption;
 secure authentication;
 access controls;

 monitoring;
 backups;
 software updates;
 vendor controls; and
 incident-response procedures.
No system can guarantee complete security. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and notifying us if you
believe your account has been compromised.
11. International Data Transfers
RatePort is operated by Blue Spectrum LLC in the United States and may serve users in multiple countries.
Information may be stored or processed in:
 the United States;
 the United Kingdom;
 the European Economic Area;
 or other countries where our service providers operate.
These countries may have privacy laws different from those in your location. Where required, we will use appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as:
 contractual protections;
 approved transfer mechanisms;
 access restrictions; and
 vendor data-processing terms.
RatePort’s public website may be hosted and delivered through Squarespace and its supporting infrastructure. RatePort’s primary application infrastructure is hosted on Amazon Web Services in Northern Virginia, USA. Backups may be stored within AWS infrastructure in accordance with RatePort’s backup and continuity procedures. Information may also be processed in other
countries where our service providers operate, including the United States.

12. Additional Rights for Certain Regions
Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights. European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland
Where applicable, we process personal information based on one or more of the following:
 performance of a contract;
 legitimate interests;
 legal obligations; or
 consent.

You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. California and Other U.S. States
Residents of certain U.S. states may have rights to:
 know what personal information is collected;
 request access;
 request correction;
 request deletion;
 receive a portable copy;
 opt out of certain sales, sharing, or targeted advertising; and
 appeal a decision regarding a privacy request.
RatePort does not sell personal information for money. RatePort does not currently use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising.
13. Children’s Privacy
RatePort is intended for business and commercial users. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Users must also meet any higher minimum age required by local law or the applicable
app store. If we learn that personal information was collected from a child in violation of applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
14. External Links and Third-Party Services
RatePort may contain links to third-party websites, services, maritime data providers, or communication platforms.
Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. RatePort is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third-party services.

15. Business Transfers
If Blue Spectrum or RatePort is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, sale, or transfer of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Any recipient will be required to handle personal information in accordance with applicable law and the commitments described in this Privacy Policy.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as RatePort develops or as legal, technical, or operational requirements change.
The updated version will show a revised “Last Updated” date. Where required, we will provide additional notice through the app, website, or email.
